Congolese music star Fally Ipupa has jet into the country for a major concert at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
The award-winning singer will headline the event, where he is expected to perform some of his biggest hits for his Kenyan fans.
He will be joined by South African Amapiano star Kamo Mphela and DJ and producer DJ Maphorisa.
The line-up also includes Kenyan and Congolese acts such as Kodong Klan, DJ Joe Mfalme, DJ Ice and Tango Supreme.
The concert is scheduled to begin at 3pm on Saturday and run until 3am on Sunday.
Ipupa’s return to Nairobi comes months after he was due to perform at Africa Forward Le Concert at Kasarani in May but did not appear on stage.
The concert will give fans another opportunity to see the Congolese star perform in Kenya after that event was called off for him.
Ipupa has a strong following in Kenya, where Congolese rumba and contemporary African music have a sizeable audience.
The musician, whose career spans more than two decades, is one of the leading figures in African music. His hits include Eloko Oyo, A Flyé and Un Coup.
His music combines traditional Congolese sounds with modern African pop, helping him build a following across Africa and beyond.
The Nairobi concert will bring together several African musical styles, including Congolese rumba, Amapiano and Kenyan music.
For the Kenyan and Congolese performers on the bill, the event provides an opportunity to share a stage with established names in African music.
Kamo Mphela is expected to bring her Amapiano sound to the Nairobi audience, while DJ Maphorisa will perform as both a DJ and producer.
The concert comes as Nairobi continues to attract international African musicians, with live performances drawing audiences from across the city and beyond.
Ipupa’s return is expected to be a particular focus for his Kenyan fans, following his absence from the Kasarani event earlier this year.
