Lawyer Stephen Ochieng Nyandiare has been appointed senior adviser for international growth and capital strategy to the advisory board of US aviation company Alpha Aviation Inc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The appointment comes as Mr Nyandiare builds his political profile ahead of Kenya’s 2027 general election, when he is expected to contest the Kisumu Senate seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A letter dated 20 July 2026 and signed by Vanessa Bouchereau, a member of Alpha Aviation’s board of directors, said Nyandiare would advise the company on international investment, student recruitment and institutional partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company said his role would include helping attract international investors, developing aviation student recruitment networks in Africa, and strengthening links between North American aviation institutions and African governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alpha Aviation is expanding its operations at Morristown Municipal Airport in New Jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company says its plans include a $5m convertible note capital raise, flight-training partnerships and accredited online aviation associate-degree programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bouchereau said Nyandiare’s international experience and networks would support the company’s expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We recognise that true scalability requires visionary advisory leadership capable of bridging continental markets, securing sovereign institutional capital, and anchoring international student pipelines,” she said in the appointment letter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company said it would initially focus on building recruitment networks in East and West Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania and Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nyandiare will also advise on opportunities involving government workforce grants, institutional sponsorships and bilateral education partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The appointment adds an international corporate role to Mr Nyandiare’s political activities in Kisumu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His supporters regard him as a potential leading contender for the Senate seat and say his political work has focused on grassroots mobilisation and engagement with communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nyandiare, a lawyer and corporate executive, has also worked with the late Raila Odinga, the veteran opposition politician and former leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His supporters say his work with young people, women, people with disabilities and older residents has helped him develop links across different groups in Kisumu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Alpha Aviation role could also give Nyandiare greater exposure to an industry that is expanding across Africa, where demand for aviation professionals and technical skills is growing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The appointment letter cites his executive role at Dexis Group of Companies, his work as an adviser on African-Caribbean-American international relations and a 2025 African Business Leadership Impact Award in London among the credentials considered by Alpha Aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company said it would provide Nyandiare with operational plans, fleet airworthiness information, details of its Part 141 training framework and investor prospectus documents as he begins his advisory work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We look forward to welcoming you to the flight line at Morristown to formalise our joint execution strategy,” Bouchereau said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The appointment comes as political activity begins to intensify ahead of the 2027 elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Kisumu Senate contest is expected to attract several candidates, although the field is yet to be settled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nyandiare’s supporters say his legal and corporate experience, combined with his political networks, could help him appeal to voters looking for a senator who can connect Kisumu with international business and educational opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
