Hafidh Ameir Hassan, the husband of Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The death was announced on Monday by Vice-President Deogratius Ndjembi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President William Ruto has sent his condolences to President Samia, her family and the people of Tanzania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ruto, in a statement on Monday, described Hafidh as President Samia’s lifelong companion, a beloved father to their children and a distinguished Tanzanian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“President Samia has lost a lifelong companion, her children a beloved father, and Tanzania a distinguished son,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ruto said Kenya stood with Tanzania during the period of mourning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Kenya stands with our Tanzanian brothers and sisters in this moment of grief,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also offered prayers for comfort and strength for President Samia and her family, and for the deceased to be granted eternal rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“May Almighty God comfort President Samia and her family, give them strength through this difficult time, and grant Hafidh Ameir Hassan eternal rest,\u201dRuto said.
