Photo: Handout<\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Beyond the action on the pitch, Afcon presents an opportunity to showcase Kenya, boost tourism and trade, and expand business opportunities for MSMEs, creatives and the hospitality industry,\u201d Koskei said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government also hopes preparations for the tournament will leave a lasting legacy through improved sporting facilities and football infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Our goal is to secure lasting benefits through modern sporting facilities, stronger football infrastructure and more opportunities for young Kenyan talent long after the tournament ends,\u201d Koskei said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The three host nations are working to meet Caf requirements ahead of the tournament, with inspections and preparations expected to continue in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe countdown is on. Africa is coming.
