Fashion lovers will be treated to a night of glamour as East Africa Plus Size Fashion Affair marks its 10th anniversary in Kisumu on May 30, 2026.

The event will be held at the Tom Mboya Labour College from 5pm till midnight and is expected to deliver an evening dripping in elegance, creativity, and unapologetic confidence.

The founder Winnie Wenger Walcott says the brand has grown into one of East Africa’s most inspiring fashion platforms.

She adds that fashion shows continue to redefine beauty standards while empowering curvy women to proudly own their space on the runway and beyond.

Originally launched as the Kisumu Plus Size Fashion Affair, the event was born from Winne’s personal experience.

She watched her mother struggle with weight loss during a time when conversations were heavily focused on slimming and unrealistic beauty ideals.

Instead of allowing society’s pressure to dim her mother’s confidence, Winnie created a platform that would remind women they are beautiful, elegant, and deserving of celebration exactly as they are.

Her dream has now transformed into a regional fashion spectacle attracting designers, creatives, fashion lovers, and models from across East Africa.

This year’s edition, themed “Decadent Glamour,” promises luxury, bold fashion statements, and a red-carpet experience unlike anything Kisumu has witnessed before.

“As we celebrate ten years of impact, one thing is certain, Kisumu is not just hosting a fashion show; it is hosting a powerful celebration of self-love, culture, creativity, and the beauty of authenticity,” Winnie said.

According to the founder, 12 contestants from across the region will grace the runway in breathtaking designs tailored specifically for plus-size bodies, proving once again that fashion belongs to everyone.

Every year, the affair becomes a showcase of fabric and style.

Fashion designers and creative entrepreneurs will also have an opportunity to exhibit and sell their collections through dedicated booths, creating a vibrant marketplace for networking, inspiration, and business growth.

From handcrafted accessories to couture garments, fashion enthusiasts will have the rare chance to interact directly with East Africa’s emerging and established designers while shopping for unique pieces.

The success and growth of the fashion affair over the years has also been made possible through strong partnerships and community support.

This year’s event is supported by the Kisumu County Government alongside Kondele MCA Joachim Oketch alias Swagga.

Local brands and businesses have also joined hands to make the glamorous celebration possible, including Super Mama Cleaning Solutions, Regional Uniforms, Ellah Movers, Skip Skop Wines, and Agoro Coffee.

Other partners include, Kalongolongo Restaurant and Accommodation, Sir Henry’s Spa, Urban Groom, City View Printers, Attela Beach Resort, Elixir XO, Larissa Beauty, and Warachi by Tony Airo.

Music lovers are equally in for a treat as celebrated Kenyan songstress Nadia Mukami is set to headline the entertainment lineup with an electrifying live performance expected to keep the crowd on its feet.

And for those not ready for the night to end, the glamour will spill into an exclusive after-party at Elixir XO, where guests will dance the night away in true celebrity fashion.

Tickets are already on sale, with VIP access going for Sh1,500 and VVIP tickets retailing at Sh2,500.
