Murkomen transfers Regional and County Commissioners in Major Shake Up

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has reshuffled regional commissioners and county commissioners in changes aimed at strengthening security coordination and improving service delivery across the country.

Murkomen said the changes were intended to enhance efficiency in the National Government Administration Officers structure and address emerging security and administrative challenges in various parts of the country.

“The transfers and deployments have taken into consideration the experience, competence, and performance of the officers in ensuring effective service delivery to wananchi,” he said.

The transfers, promotions, and redeployments took immediate effect following the directive issued by the Interior Ministry.

Among the regional commissioners affected by the reshuffle are Rhoda Nyaboke Onyancha who was transferred from the Coast Region to Nairobi, while Paul Rotich moved from Eastern Region to Coast Region.

Samson Macharia Irungu was redeployed from Coast Region to Western Region while Flora Nkatha Mworoah was transferred to the Office of the President Headquarters from Nyanza Region.

At the same time, Jacob Muganda was deployed from the Office of the President Headquarters and appointed County Commissioner for Meru County.

Onesmus Musyoki Kyatha moved from Eastern Region to serve as County Commissioner for Kakamega County, while Allan Machari was deployed from the Office of the President Headquarters to Western Region.

Other regional commissioners Joshua Muriungi Nkanatha (Central Region), John Odhiambo Otieno (North Eastern Region), and Dr. Abdi Mohammed Hassan (Rift Valley Region) were retained in their station.

In the County Commissioners’ reshuffle, Joseph Kibet Boen was transferred from Kiambu County to Kilifi County, while Stephen Kutwa Sangolo moved from Baringo County to Lamu County.

Jeremiah Mwai Gicheru was redeployed from Kericho County to Tana River County, and John Kiprotich Cheruiyot shifted from Samburu County to Meru County.

Mwachaunga Mohamed Chaunga was transferred from Kisii County to Machakos County, while Shufaa Omar Mwijuma moved from Nyamira County to Kirinyaga County.

Alason Hussein moved from Kirinyaga County to Trans Nzoia County while Wesley Koech Mabwai was transfered from Lamu County to Baringo County.

James Taari Rwaria was redeployed from the Principal Administrative Assistant to the Regional Commissioner’s office in North Eastern Region to Kakamega County.

Benson David Leparmorijo moved from Kisumu County to Nyamira County, while James Gatutha Kamau shifted from Marsabit County to Kisii County.

The reshuffle also saw Gideon Nyandiricha Oyagi transferred from Trans Nzoia County to the Office of the President Headquarters.

David Kipkosgei Kiprop moved from Isiolo County to the headquarters, while Josephine Auma Ouko was transferred from Machakos County to the Office of the President Headquarters.

Kilifi County commissioner David Simiyu Wanyonyi heads to the headquarters, alongside Joseph Mwangi Wamuti, who was moved from Tana River County.

In fresh deployments, Jackson Ngelai Olechuta was moved from SDCC-Molo to Garissa County, Ronald Enyakasi was deployed from the Office of the President Headquarters to Wajir County, and Stanley Ndungu Kamande transferred from SDCC-Borabu to Marsabit County.

George Odhiambo Omolo was redeployed from SDCC-Nandi South to Isiolo, Isaac Keter Cheruiyot moved from SDCC-Masinga to Samburu County, while George Matundura shifted from SDCC-Rongo to Kiambu County.

Ali Omari was also transferred from SDCC-Kamukunji to Kericho County.
