PS Omollo praises Ruto’s inclusive development agenda, calls for Political Unity in Luo Nyanza

Interior and National Administration Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo has called for political unity, inclusivity, and equitable development across the country, as he defends President Dr. William Ruto’s record.

Speaking on Friday during the burial ceremony of the mother of Nyando MP Jared Okello in Kisumu County, Dr. Omollo praised President Ruto’s administration for its commitment to national cohesion and service delivery.

He emphasized that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains focused on ensuring that all regions of the country benefit fairly from government development initiatives, regardless of political affiliation or voting patterns.

Dr Omollo conveyed heartfelt condolences from both himself and President Ruto to the bereaved family, describing the late matriarch as a resilient and dedicated woman whose values, leadership, and strength were evident in the lives and achievements of her children.

Dr. Omollo praised MP Okello for his continued leadership and the trust the electorate has consistently placed in him through repeated electoral victories.

“It is not by accident that the people of Nyando have entrusted you with leadership time and again,” Omollo remarked, acknowledging the legislator’s enduring support within the constituency.

His remarks come at a time when political cooperation between leaders affiliated with the government and those from the opposition has continued to gain momentum, particularly within the Luo Nyanza region, signaling a shift toward bipartisan engagement and national unity.

Dr. Omollo also addressed Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Dr. Oburu Oginga, urging him to provide visionary leadership not only within the ODM party but also across the broader Luo community.

“To Dr. Oburu, you carry an important responsibility not only to guide ODM, but also to offer leadership to this community. As a son of this region, I pledge my support in that journey,” he said.

The PS described ODM as a significant national political movement whose influence extends beyond regional boundaries, adding that collaboration among leaders from different political backgrounds was essential in fostering peace, cohesion, and sustainable development.

Defending President Ruto’s development agenda in the Luo Nyanza region, Dr. Omollo stated that the government had invested nearly Sh200 billion across the four counties through infrastructure expansion, healthcare reforms, educational programs, and the revival of stalled development projects.

“Under President Ruto’s leadership, every part of Kenya is receiving equal attention and consideration,” he stated.

Among the key achievements highlighted were the recruitment of teachers, ongoing road construction projects, and the implementation of the Social Health Authority (SHA), which he said is aimed at improving access to affordable healthcare for ordinary Kenyans.

“No parent should be denied access to quality healthcare because of financial constraints,” he added.

Dr. Omollo further praised President Ruto’s leadership style, describing him as a selfless leader dedicated to uniting Kenyans through inclusive governance, fair representation, and equitable distribution of national resources.

According to the PS, the Luo Nyanza region has also benefited from increased representation within government institutions through the appointment of state officers and public servants drawn from the area.

“President Ruto is fostering national unity by promoting cohesion and ensuring equal representation for all communities,” he noted.

He also called on leaders and residents to reject divisive politics and instead embrace cooperation and dialogue under the broad-based political framework currently emerging between rival political factions.

The funeral ceremony brought together leaders from various political parties, reflecting the growing spirit of bipartisan engagement in the region as national leaders continue to advocate for political tolerance, reconciliation, and unity across the country.
