Police in Kisumu are investigating the death of an unidentified woman whose body was found in the Kona Mbuta area of Manyatta on Saturday morning.

The body was discovered at about 7am in a corridor within the Skyway area after the incident was reported by Manyatta A village elder, Tom Opiyo.

Kisumu Central Police Commander Edward Nderangu said officers, together with detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), visited the scene and launched an investigation.

The woman, believed to be about 38 years old, was found lying on her back. Residents who gathered at the scene told police they did not recognise her.
