Kenya Railways has announced additional Madaraka Express services between Nairobi and Mombasa to meet increased passenger demand.
The special services will operate on Monday, 31 August, and Tuesday, 1 September 2026.
On Monday, a special train will leave Mombasa Terminus at 20:40 local time.
On Tuesday, two additional services are scheduled. A train will depart from Nairobi Terminus at 09:40, while another will leave Mombasa Terminus at 16:30.
Kenya Railways said the services would be available for booking and urged passengers to reserve their seats early.
The railway operator also warned passengers to use only its official booking channels when purchasing tickets.
Bookings can be made through the Kenya Railways online ticketing platform, the *639# USSD service, or in person at any Madaraka Express Passenger Service station.
The additional services give passengers travelling between the capital, Nairobi, and the coastal city of Mombasa more options during the two-day period.
Kenya Railways advised passengers to confirm their bookings and travel arrangements before going to the respective termini.
